Connecting pipe fittings to beer faucets!

Since 2012, we have been using pipe fittings to make some badass beer tap handles. Along the way, we've used several different approaches to get a stock chrome or brass ferrule connected to the bottom pipe fitting on the handle.

Now, we've finally solved that problem. We've eliminated the stock ferrule completely and are making our own out of a pipe fitting. This new pipe fitting ferrule has 3/8" NPT (National Pipe Thread Taper) male threads on one end and female 3/8"-16 UNC (Unified Coarse) threads on the other end which will connect to all standard beer faucets.

Buy this adapter fitting now in our Shop for $10.

FAQ

  1. Q: Do you guys still make custom branded tap handles?
A: Yes, we do. We are focusing on industrial style handles made from pipe fittings and have several options available to add your custom branding to the handle. We will work with you to design a custom industrial tap handle and have your logo professionally printed on a magnetic medallion to be attached to your handle. Request a quote here: Custom Quote.

  2. Q: If I buy a pipe fitting adapter ferrule, where can I buy pipe fittings?
A: You can (typically) buy several different styles and sizes of pipe fittings at local hardware stores, Home Depot, Lowes, and lots of online stores including Amazon.

  3. Q: What kinds of materials are available as pipe fittings to be used with the pipe fitting ferrules?
A: The most common kinds of material for pipe fittings is iron, which basically comes in two finishes of black and galvanized (grey). With some searching you should also be able to find polished brass, red brass, chromed brass, and stainless steel.

  4. Q: Why is my black iron pipe tap handle a little greasy? And, why does it put some black onto my hands?
A: The black iron pipe comes with some grease on it to keep it from rusting. We do our best to clean the pipe and fittings prior to sending you your tap handle, but sometimes we don't get it all.

  5. Q: My black iron pipe tap handle seems to be rusting a little. Is this normal?
A: Totally normal. We purposefully do not coat the black iron pipe handles with any protective finish, so that their natural aging process will occur with use.

  6. Q: I bought a tap handle from you guys a couple years ago that has a chrome ferrule attached to the bottom and now it is loose. Can you guys fix it?
A: Absolutely. You can send us your beer tap handle(s) to us and we will swap out the loose fittings with our new signature pipe ferrule at not charge.
