All of this tap handle business started with a shed deer antler found in Ann Arbor, MI.
I was walking back into our house, saw my kegerator, and knew it should be a tap handle!
For the next year or so, I tracked down unique items from garage sales, estate sales, eBay, and anywhere else to make into tap handles. Some of the crazy items can be seen on the Bear Taps recycled gallery page. During this time, I started the CabinFeverCraft Etsy shop and sold tap handles on there.
Then, I found MakerWorks in Ann Arbor and realized with the world of possibilities their laser engravers opened up for branding tap handles.
Eventually, I shifted the tap handle business from CabinFeverCraft to a new Etsy shop called BearTaps. Not long after, I just couldn't keep up with the custom order requests. When we moved from Ann Arbor, MI to North Bend, WA in October 2016, I shifted the focus of our handle designs to those that you see in our store now.
